Borgo Sogna

Sogna was restored in the 1990s preserving the stone building architecture and style of this ancient hilltop community, enhanced by . extensive landscaping and glass-orb lighting system throughout the area. It is a car-free zone with two parking areas just minutes walk from any of the residences. Sogna is surrounded by native deciduous forest and small olive and fruit orchards with beautiful vistas across the surrounding valleys. At night the only lights are from a few distant neighboring farms. There are a number of easy walks on gravel roads or forest trails to nearby communities with birds, butterflies and wild flowers being plentiful in spring and summer.

Even though Sogna is located in a less visited area of Tuscany, it is very close to Siena, Arezzo and even Florence. It’s easy enough to spend a day or evening in a city, and then return to the quiet solitude of La Fonte, or if the spirit moves you, spend the day walking nearby and return for a swim as temperatures climb. Not to be overlooked are the numerous highly regarded wineries and country restaurants that make for enjoyable day trips.
